でももっと、クライアントさんやディレクターさんの役に立てないか。

そう考えていくうちに映像もつくるようになり、撮影がない時も、ブランドが紡ぎたい物語について語り合うようになりました。

 

「これを撮ろう」ではなく「これを売ろう」と知恵を持ち寄ったり。

現場でさらにアイデアをふくらませたり、飛躍させたりして。

 

サイドキッカーは、主人公の助っ人となり、よき話し相手にもなる名脇役。

時に主人公が持たない知識や技術をつかって物語を前へ進め、冒険の語り部として、ヒーローの活躍を後世へ伝える役目も担います。

 

シャーロック・ホームズにはワトソンが、バットマンにはロビンがいるように、いい脇役がいることで、誰かの物語がもっとゆたかになり、心に響く物語を共に紡ぎ、冒険がもっと愉快になっていく。

そんな風にお役に立てることが、僕たちのよろこびです。

 

 

All I can do is take pictures.

But I wondered if I could be of more use to clients and directors.

As I pondered this, I began to create videos as well. Even when I wasn’t shooting, we discussed the narratives that the brand wished to weave.

We shared our wisdom, not by declaring, “Let’s film this,” but by envisioning, “Let’s sell this.”

We sought points of empathy to discover what “soft” truly means, expanding and evolving ideas in the moment.

Supporting characters play a vital role, aiding the main character and serving as good conversational partners.

They often use knowledge and skills the hero lacks to advance the story and also act as narrators of the adventure, recounting the hero’s exploits for future generations.

Just as Sherlock Holmes has Watson and Batman has Robin, great supporting characters enrich someone’s story and make their adventures more delightful.
